WHY GENERIC DOES NOT WORK

Plastering is high-touch, low-margin work without systems

Every job is different - different surfaces, different coatings, different access. You're custom-quoting every project. Your crew is waiting for prep work. Your schedule fractures because project sequencing is chaotic. Here's what plasterers struggle with:

Each project is a custom quote - no repeatable process

New house. Different brick type. Cavity width varies. You're re-engineering the quote every time. Your estimators (if you have them) aren't confident without you. Consistency doesn't exist.

Project sequencing chaos delays your whole pipeline

Prep work isn't done. Your plasterers are standing idle. You're scrambling to reschedule. Project timelines slip. Cash flow becomes unpredictable because you don't know when projects will actually start.

Crew is trained by habit - knowledge is trapped in your head

Your lead plasterer knows your process because they've worked with you for years. New crew take months to get up to speed. Quality varies because standards exist only in your examples, not in documented systems.

Material waste and rework destroy margins

Over-ordering plaster to avoid shortages. Rework on cracked patches. Fixing finishes that didn't dry properly. Waste isn't being tracked - you just eat the cost.

You are the bottleneck for every decision in the business

Every quote, every problem, every scheduling conflict lands on your desk. Your team waits for you. Your clients wait for you. You cannot step away for a week without the business grinding to a halt. That is not a business, it is a job with more risk.

You have no visibility on actual profit per job

You look at the bank account and assume you are profitable. But you are not tracking real labour cost per job, material waste, travel time, or callback frequency. Some of your jobs are making money. Some are losing it. You do not know which ones.

Built for Owners Whose Problems Are Not Simple

You have tried the group thing. You have sat in rooms with coaches who have never run a plastering business. You have done the courses. None of it was built for the complexity you are dealing with now. This is.

This is for you if

  • You're a plasterer who's built a £250K+ business and you're still doing every quote
  • Your crew can't move without asking you to confirm the process
  • You're frustrated by project delays caused by poor sequencing and prep coordination
  • You want to hire a second crew but don't know how to scale your knowledge
  • Material waste is eating your margins but you don't have visibility into it

This is not for you if

  • You're a sole plasterer doing small house patches (this is for business builders, not soloists)
  • You want to learn better plastering techniques (we teach business systems, not trade skills)
  • You're not ready to document your process or train others (scaling requires systems)
  • You don't want to hire or manage crew (that's the foundation of growth)
  • You're happy with your current income (this training is for owners who want to scale)

They Were Where You Are. Here Is What Changed.

These plastering business owners were exactly where you are. Here is what changed.

A Structured Path From Where You Are to Where You Want to Be

Freedom Fighter is not a course. It is a structured, phase-matched training program. Your coach meets you at your current stage and builds the systems you need - in the right order - to move to the next one.

Phase 1

Foundation

You are the business. Subbie or sole trader, maybe one or two staff. The focus here is financial visibility, basic job management, and building the commercial foundation that everything else sits on. Most owners skip this and wonder why nothing works later.

Phase 2

Growth

You have tradies on the tools but no admin support. Revenue is growing but so is the chaos. This phase is about hiring your first office person, building standard operating procedures, and creating the structure that lets you step back from every job.

Phase 3

Expansion

You have tradies and admin but no operations manager. The business runs but still needs you for every major decision. This phase builds the leadership layer, delegation frameworks, and operational systems that let you start stepping away from day-to-day.

Phase 4

Scale

Full team in place. GM or operations manager running the business. This phase is custom - it is about refining what you have built, protecting your margins, planning your next move, and making sure the business continues to perform without you in it.

Your Coach. Your Business. Your Agenda.

Fortnightly Coaching. Same Time. Same Day.

This is not group training. Every session is a private conversation between you and your coach. Same time, same day, every fortnight. Focused entirely on your business, your challenges, and your next move. Accountability is built into the structure.

  1. Phase Assessment - Your coach identifies where you are and what needs to happen next. No guessing.
  2. System Build - Each session delivers a specific system, framework, or decision that moves your business forward.
  3. Implementation - You apply it between sessions. Your coach holds you accountable at the next one.
  4. Review & Adjust - What worked, what did not, what changes. Your plan evolves as your business does.
Typical Session Structure
Fortnightly. Zoom. Accountability.
  • Review progress since last session
  • Address your current blockers and challenges
  • Deliver the next system or framework for your phase
  • Set specific actions for the next fortnight
  • Same time, same coach, every fortnight. Consistency drives results.

What Happens When You Have the Right Coach

I was doing every quote myself and my crew couldn't move without asking. Once I documented my quoting system and trained the team, I got off the floor. Now I'm scheduling, managing quality, and growing - not trowelling.

Hired lead plasterer and site coordinator. Revenue up 40% with same labour hours spent on the tools.

Material waste was killing us. We weren't tracking what was actually being used vs. purchased. Once we built a site inventory system, waste dropped by 23%. That margin came straight to the bottom line.

Waste reduction added £28K annual profit. System took 2 weeks to set up, runs itself now.

My crew was sitting idle waiting for builders to prep surfaces. I wasn't managing the timeline - the builder was. Once I built a project sequencing system that showed us access dates and prep schedules, we could fill gaps with secondary work.

Crew utilisation improved from 64% to 82%. Idle time disappeared.

Before and After Freedom Fighter

Before

  • Every job requires a custom site visit and quote. You're the only person who can estimate accurately.
  • Your plasterers arrive to find surfaces not prepped. They sit idle waiting. Your schedule fractures.
  • Your team copies what you do. Knowledge of your process is trapped in experience, not systems.
  • You buy plaster for buffer stock but don't know how much you're actually using. Waste is invisible.
  • Quality varies by crew member. Some patches crack. Some finishes don't hold. You're doing rework yourself.
  • You're stretched between the tools, the schedule, and the quotes. You can't grow because you're the constraint.

After

  • You have a quoting framework that accounts for surface type, cavity width, and complexity. Your team quotes confidently using your process.
  • You're managing project access and prep timelines. Your crew knows when they'll actually start - no surprises, no idle time.
  • Your standard for plaster application, drying, and finishing is documented. New team members learn faster because the system is clear.
  • You're tracking material usage per job. You order what you need. Waste becomes visible and manageable.
  • Quality standards are built into your process. Your crew applies the standard consistently. Rework drops.
  • You're managing the business - scheduling, quality, crew development. You're off the tools and scaling.

Freedom Fighter Is Built for Complex Businesses

This is not an entry-level program. It is built for plastering business owners who have outgrown generic advice and need structured, personalised support for the problems only they can see.

This is for you if

  • Your business has grown past what one person can manage alone
  • You have tried group programs or other coaches and they did not get your trade
  • Your problems are layered - HR, finance, operations, leadership - all at once
  • You want a coach from the trades who has helped hundreds scale, not someone who studied it
  • You are building for owner freedom - not just more revenue

This is not for you if

  • You want a magic bullet - this is structured, long-term work
  • You are not willing to change how your business operates
  • You think competing on price is a strategy
  • You want someone to do the work for you instead of with you
  • You are happy with how things are and not ready to commit to change

Before You Apply

How do you build a repeatable quoting process when every surface is different?
You identify the variables that affect quote: surface type (brick, block, damaged), cavity width, finish type (smooth, textured), access difficulty. You create a framework that factors these in. Not every quote is unique - they're combinations of variables. Document the variables, and your team can quote confidently.
How do you manage project sequencing when builders control when you can access the site?
You don't fight builder timelines - you work with them. Create a site access schedule at the quote stage. Once you know when you'll actually access the site, you can sequence your other projects around it. Secondary work fills gaps when access is delayed.
How do you reduce material waste?
Track usage per site. If you're buying 10 bags of plaster per 50m² and your cost is X, you know your material cost. Over-ordering becomes visible. You can adjust purchasing and catch waste before it happens.
How do you build a quoting document that works for your whole team?
Start with the variables that affect your quotes. Create a template that asks for surface type, dimensions, and finish. Your team fills in the variables. The process calculates material and labour. Consistency replaces guesswork.
How do you train new plasterers on your standards without being on every job?
Document your application process - how to prepare surface, how long to leave between coats, what constitutes acceptable finish. Have your lead plasterer inspect new crew work. Standards get transferred through documentation and inspection, not just observation.
What's the difference between a skilled plasterer and a business-owning plasterer?
A skilled plasterer can do the work. A business-owning plasterer builds systems so other plasterers can do the work consistently. One is a job. One scales.
How do you know if a plastering job is actually profitable?
Track labour hours (how many plasterer-hours on site), material cost, and project revenue. If a 100m² quote budgets 40 hours at £50/hour labour + £200 materials = £2,200 cost, and you quoted £3,200, your margin is £1,000. Most plasterers don't know - that's the problem.
