Map lead times with your suppliers upfront. Know that toughened glass takes 5 weeks, laminated takes 3 weeks. Build those timelines into your project schedule at the quote stage. If a project needs glass in 2 weeks, you know whether it's possible before you quote.
How do you train your crew to measure accurately without being on every site?
Document your measuring process - what you measure, in what order, what tolerances matter. Have your lead glazier train new crew using your documented standard. Spot-check their first 10 measurements. Once they're accurate, they're reliable.
How do you reduce breakage and waste?
Track every broken pane. Find the pattern - is it transport, is it handling, is it poor packing? Fix the cause. If packing is the issue, better packing materials fix it. If handling is the issue, better handling procedure fixes it. Visibility reveals the cause.
How do you handle custom frame orders that take a long time?
